Emma McHarrie and James Wills from Kilchoman Distillery traveled across Poland in a specially wrapped Land Rover — four cities, five events, nearly 300 participants. This is already the third edition of the Kilchoman European Tour. This year, the distillery is visiting 26 countries over 10 weeks — and Poland was at the beginning of the planned route. The tour covered Wrocław, where meetings took place at the M&P Salon on Piękna Street and at Pub Szkocka, then Poznań at Miler Spirits & Style, Gdańsk at the M&P Salon on Rajska Street, and the final stop Warsaw at the Whisky & Cognac Club. The main star of all the meetings was Kilchoman Mezcal Cask Matured — a limited edition of 300 bottles. This is the distillery's first whisky matured entirely in mezcal casks for the full maturation period. The result is unexpected: the classic peaty character of Kilchoman is joined by earthiness and smokiness from the Mexican mezcal casks, while citrus and vanilla round out the whole. Participants had the opportunity to taste, talk with distillery representatives, and make purchases. A commemorative T-shirt was included with each bottle purchased. The format of the tour itself says a lot about Kilchoman's philosophy. Instead of an advertising campaign — a Land Rover and direct contact with people. Kilchoman produces everything on site, from barley cultivation to bottling. This truly resonates in their spirits. Thank you to everyone who was with us.
