Bodegas Aragonesas

Bodegas Aragonesas is the largest winery in the Campo de Borja appellation – a wine region in the heart of Aragon, located 60 km west of Zaragoza. Founded in 1984, it continues a winemaking tradition dating back to 1145, when Cistercian monks from the Veruela Abbey began cultivating vineyards here. The winery's specialty is Garnacha – a variety deeply rooted in local heritage. Campo de Borja – the land of Garnacha The red, stony soil and harsh, warm climate with low rainfall create demanding conditions for vines. Some of the vineyards are over 100 years old – such old vines yield low production, but their grapes have great flavor concentration. In addition to Garnacha, Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Mazuelo, Chardonnay, Macabeo, and Muscat are grown here. From light and fruity to complex aged wines Bodegas Aragonesas produces a wide range of wines – from light, fruity, unoaked wines, through Roble and Crianza wines aged in oak barrels, to complex single-vineyard wines. The offering includes white, rosé, and red wines with varying levels of dryness. The winery's flagship brand is Coto de Hayas.
