The single malt whisky from the Signature Edition line is the flagship product of the St Kilian distillery. Each edition is unique and one-of-a-kind, bearing its own signature/number and differing in the degree of malt smokiness, the composition of casks used in the maturation process, and the alcohol strength. The mild, non-peated Signature Edition TWELVE is a four-year-old single malt whisky distilled in 2017/2018, which was mostly aged in casks that previously held sweet Moscatel wine (67%), then blended with whisky aged in Jamaican rum casks (26%) and in new virgin oak casks of American oak (7%). The result is a creamy-sweet, fruity composition perfectly complemented by tropical aromas as well as mild, warming notes of oak. The whisky was bottled at its natural colour, without cold filtration, at a strength of 50.8%. In total, 12,550 bottles of 0.5l capacity, shaped like a traditional pot still, were released to the market. On the nose, tropical aromas of rum and sweet molasses evolve towards ripe pineapples, grapes, juicy peaches and delicate spices. The palate offers juicy peaches, sweet grapes and creamy vanilla with pieces of ripe pineapple, transitioning into warming, spicy notes of oak and pepper. The finish is a sweet fruit compote and red grape jelly with subtle dry notes of grape seeds and mildly warming accents of oak.
