Winnica Sarral is over 1000 hectares of vineyards located at an altitude between 350 and 700 meters above sea level, in the Catalan region of Conca de Barbera. This area has historically, almost always been associated with viticulture, and as early as the Middle Ages, Cistercians produced wines here. As for more recent history, a major step forward in the development of the region and wine production occurred from the mid-19th century onwards. The current winery buildings were erected at the beginning of the 20th century (in 1914) and include beautiful cellars, called the Wine Cathedral due to their size and vaulted form. Today these enchanting spaces are full of wines aging in barrels and bottles. The sparkling wines of the Cava type produced here are made based on the traditional Macabeo and Parellada grape varieties.
