The company's history began in 1993, when one of the richest men in Chile, copper mine owner Guillermo Luksic Craig, decided to take on the challenge of producing the highest quality wines in northern Chile in the Limari Valley. The vineyard lies on the border of a magical place called the Enchanted Valley, where ancient ceremonies and rituals once took place. This place, due to its historical significance, has been a National Park since 1973. It bears witness to the life of Chile's indigenous inhabitants and is one of the greatest, unchanged cultural heritages. The petroglyphs on rocks and stones from the beginning of our era are evidence and a reminder of ancient times. One of these signs is used as the logo of the Tabali winery. The proximity of the Atacama Desert on one side and the Pacific Ocean on the other ensure hot days and cool nights. The soil of Limari Valley is absolutely unique - we won't find such soil in any other corner of Chile. Very calcareous, stony, with remnants of crustaceans, here and there clayey. This exceptional terroir resembles Europe more than the New World. Tabali produces only the highest quality wines here. Tabali is one of the highest-rated Chilean wineries. Many of their wines have received over 90 points awarded by R. Parker. They have medals awarded by Decanter magazine, and Tabali Reserva Especial Syrah in 2011 was recognized during the Annual Wines of Chile Award as the best Chilean wine! Felipe Muller - managing director of the winery and at the same time Chef Winemaker of Tabali, was also honored and chosen as the best Winemaker in Chile.
