An elegant wooden case conceals the quintessence of the Cahors region. Trilogie consists of three different wines, each composed of 100% Malbec grapes, sourced from three different terraces and representing three different microclimates of Cahors. AU COIN DU BOIS is 100% Malbec from the 2nd Terrace, characterised by soil of red clay with a layer of limestone. A gentle slope with high exposure to the sun. The grapes were hand-harvested, and the wine matured for 12 months in French oak barrels. The aroma shows a strong presence of dark fruit: currants, blackberries and ripe plums. On the palate rich and full-bodied. Fruitiness, round tannins and delicate oak. Excellent with roast meats, stews and cheeses. LES GALETS 100% Malbec from the 3rd Terrace, with soil rich in clay and limestone, with iron deposits and lava residues, and intense exposure to the sun. Hand-harvested and matured for a year in French oak barrels. A rich and expressive aroma, full of plums, blackberries and spices. Dense on the palate, with great concentration of black fruit, spices and coffee. A complex structure providing a lively and long finish. Superb with red meats, lamb and duck. LES PETITES CAILLES Malbec (100%) from the 4th Terrace, with limestone soil rich in iron. Just as with the other wines of the Trilogie series, the fruit was hand-harvested and maturation lasted 12 months in French oak barrels. A very intense bouquet abounding in blackcurrant, liquorice and mint. On the palate full and deep, with discernible truffle, dark plums and a broad range of spices. A very long finish, with nicely defined tannins. A wine with excellent ageing potential. Ideal with grilled meats, as well as dishes with truffles and mushroom-based sauces.
