Real Companhia Velha Malvasia White is a white Port from the Douro, based on indigenous white grape varieties with Malvasia Fina in a dominant position. A mini version in a 0.05 l bottle, at 19% ABV.

Behind the wine stands Real Companhia Velha – as the producer itself states, the oldest and most emblematic wine company in Portugal, with over 258 years of uninterrupted activity in the service of Port. The blend is made up of white Douro varieties: Malvasia Fina, Donzelinho Branco, Viosinho, Gouveio.

In production, the contact of the must with the skins is essential. According to the producer, fermentation and fortification take place in stainless steel to preserve freshness, while maintaining contact with the skins for greater concentration and to draw out the flavours. The wine is then aged in wooden casks for 3 years.

In the glass the wine shows a golden-pale colour; it is young, fresh, sweet, fruity, of medium body, very balanced, with a lingering sweet finish. Behind the axes of the fruity profile lies a delicate acidity – this is a sweet, aromatic, fresh and balanced white Port thanks to a light, favourable acidity.
