Dé Danann is an Irish, non-peated, triple-distilled blended whiskey composed of single malt whisky and grain whisky made from corn, matured in ex-bourbon American oak casks. The name of the whiskey refers to the mystical tribe of Irish gods, the Tuatha Dé Danann, who reached the shores of Ireland centuries ago. According to legends and lore, they are known as leaders, heroes and warriors possessing mystical powers. It is said that upon their arrival they burned their ships, and the clouds of smoke caused a solar eclipse lasting three days and three nights. Ireland was to be their home and land for centuries. The bottle's label features the image of Lugh – a triple god and member of the ancient Dé Danann tribe – a warrior, king, master craftsman and saviour. It was his qualities, such as strength, artistry and honour, that became the inspiration for the creation of this whiskey. De Danann Whiskey, drawing on the centuries-old tradition of whiskey production, crafted using traditional Irish methods passed down from generation to generation, is a "dram" that will soon become a legend… On the nose we find a springtime freshness and vibrancy that contrasts perfectly with delicate notes of honey and vanilla. On the palate it is slightly creamy with notes of vanilla, barley malt and apple jelly. The finish is the sweetness of peach, which gives way to slightly dry notes reminiscent of sherry.
