Villa Dria is a Gascon vineyard with the IGP Côtes de Gascogne appellation, founded in 2010 by Jean-Pierre Drieux in the Gers department of Occitanie. On 76 hectares, local and international grape varieties are cultivated in a sustainable manner, with respect for the natural environment. History of Villa Dria Villa Dria is associated with a historical heritage dating back to ancient Roman times. About 2000 years ago, the Romans settled in present-day Gascony and founded the city of Elusa, now known as Eauze. They developed the surrounding hills by planting them with vines – thus creating the first wine estates called "villas". In homage to this heritage, Jean-Pierre Drieux named his vineyard Villa Dria. Jean-Pierre has over 20 years of experience in viticulture. He built his own winery in 2010, equipping it with a modern production line. Villa Dria Vineyards The vineyard layout was planned according to geobiological principles – for each variety, parcels with the most suitable soil and exposure were selected. Cultivation is carried out in a sustainable way: organic fertilizers are used to enrich the soil structure, avoiding chemical fertilizers. Villa Dria Grape Varieties On the 76-hectare estate, local white varieties from Gascony dominate: gros manseng, petit manseng, ugni blanc and colombard, complemented by international varieties – sauvignon blanc and chardonnay. For the production of rosé and red wines, cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon and merlot are cultivated. All wines bear the IGP Côtes de Gascogne appellation.
