Bikkun is a Basque word meaning "made together," describing camaraderie and collaboration. Here we have a collaboration between Basque Moonshiners, whose single malt was chosen as the best Spanish whisky, and M&H, also pioneers of their country in this field. Both of these distilleries produce single malt whisky in a place where this craft is not usually practiced. They were brought together by a shared passion and enthusiasm, as well as the desire to show the world bold and interesting projects of the so-called new world when it comes to the whisky category. "Bikkun" is the perfect name in this case, because two whiskies were combined to create a tribute to pioneering producers. To create this small batch of 800 bottles, two casks were chosen. The first is an M&H STR cask made of American oak with a medium char, matured under the special humidity and temperature conditions of Israel; on the other hand, a BASQUE MOONSHINERS ExOloroso cask, characteristic of the special AGOT Single Malt Basque Whisky editions. At the moment of blending, both casks had 4.5 years of maturation behind them under completely different conditions (Tel Aviv, Israel and Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain), which gave this whisky very particular and completely unique characteristics. The color is a dark, glossy amber. On the nose, notes of raisins and ripe stone fruits are perceptible, followed by aromas of honey and cocoa. A pleasant aroma of cereals combined with notes of baked goods and dried fruits. On the palate, we discover a buttery texture. Notes of honey and spicy accents are perceptible. A long finish with sweet notes characteristic of Jerez wines and cereals. BIKKUN® Vatted Malt Whisky, M&H Edition is neither filtered nor colored, in order to achieve maximum flavor.
